The Hyundai Motor Company is one of the fastest growing automotive manufacturers in the world. They have seen increased success in the United States and are expanding their sales to some of the fastest growing economies around the world. But that increased success in the United States has lately been the company's bread and butter. Last year was a record year for the automotive manufacturer and their production plants in the United States were running at full capacity, leaving demand far higher than the supply of cars coming from Hyundai. Hyundai likes to build cars where they sell them, so one might assume that Hyundai is already working on building another plant as we speak. But that isn't quite exactly the case right now.
The company has said that they are looking into building another production facility in the United States in order to meet record demand within the country, but no plans have been solidified among the company's executives. The company's plan is to wait and see how sales progress in 2011, which will stay under 600,000 vehicles due to production limitations, and then they will go from there. We should also note that Hyundai is introducing the Elantra model this year which could possibly drastically further increase the gap between supply and demand for the company's cars.
It appears that the construction of a new plant in the United States is imminent and the automaker continues to experience increased success. Although the company doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry to construct one right away and are completely OK with waiting to see how future demand plays out. A new plant in the country would be great for job growth within the country as well.
